The Young Musicians Performance Academy hosts gifted musicians grades 4-12 who are passionate about music and performing.  As a supplement to school-band curriculum and private lessons, the YMPA provides a place for dedicated young musicians to expand their musical knowledge at a progressive pace.  The curriculum includes playing written music, but is also highly focused on improvisation and the essentials of music theory. 

Performing often and in front of welcoming crowds is another important part of the YMPA curriculum.  The YMPA is dedicated to the idea that a successful young musician is created equally from working hard in a regular practice routine AND showing off that hard work!  Since 2005, the YMPA’s groups have performed at The Lighthouse, Sangria, the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair, the Coronado Jazzfest, the Fullerton Jazzfest, the Roxy Theatre, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, among many other venues!
